Dear Reader,
Welcome to the Anchor The Scaries Newsletter, your weekly refuge before the chaos of the workweek, produced by Rising Anchor Therapy in California.
As we journey together towards mental wellness and personal growth, each newsletter edition will feature one affirmation, one article, and one actionable tip to transform your Sunday evenings from a time of anxiety to one of calm and rejuvenation, particularly before July 4.
Affirmation of the week
"I am an effective problem-solver. I can stay calm and find solutions to challenges"
Clip of the Week - “You’ll Be Fine, Kiddo!”
21 Year Old Student Lands Plane Without Nose Wheel.
As the title suggests, this audio captured the conversation between Taylor Hash and ground control when they realized that her nose wheel had fallen off the plane. 😨😨
Taylor maintains her cool while asking for guidance, and ground control gives her focused, encouraging, directions to help guide her to a safe landing.
Here are some lessons that can be taken away from this clip that we can take into the week:
- The Importance of Preparedness: In the process of training to become a pilot, Taylor had been taught what to do in a crisis and knew how to reach out for help. Before we embark on big risks, it’s helpful to get prepared and have a plan for what to do if something goes wrong.
- The Power of Effective Communication: Despite the unusual and potentially dangerous situation, Ground Control remains calm and focused on the task at hand. They provide clear instructions, ensuring the student pilot knows what to do and when.
- Importance of Community & Feedback: With Ground Control’s help and encouragement, Taylor was able to stay calm and successfully land the plane.
Actionable Tip of the Week: Embrace The Power of Community
Challenge yourself to actively seek and graciously accept help, even if you don’t think you need it.
It's a sign of strength to acknowledge that we don't have all the answers and to lean on the expertise of others. This week, make it a goal to ask for help at least once, whether it's for a small task or a larger challenge.
You might be surprised at how much you can learn from others around you and how good it may feel to be supported while you do something hard.
May your week be filled with growth and tranquility,
The Rising Anchor Therapy Team
